Birthday Bird

A first outing for another of my new Crafty Individuals (CI) stamps - I did have quite a spending spree on their site recently! The bird CI-179 and the flourish CI-182 were stamped using Brilliance "Pearlescent Purple" ink. I also swiped the ink pad over the flower petals. The background paper is from CI Background Papers Book 3, Springtime and the scalloping was cut using a Martha Stewart punch.

Happy Birthday!

It was my birthday last week and I received some beautiful hand crafted cards which I would like to share with you. I'm afraid my photography doesn't do them justice!

Difficult to capture the iridescence of the acetate butterfly on thiscard.
It is attached by a small piece of acetate which allows and shimming movement.

Mini Concertina Books

The theme of the current issue of the Cardmaking Paradise magazine is "Valentines" but the projects can be used for other occasions. My design team contribution was a series of flower themed mini concertina books which are only 6"(15.5cm) x 2" (5cm). The template can easily be made larger.

For this first one I used double sided scrapbooking paper. I edged the pink paper with fired brick Distress Ink and also stamped the flowers with that colour.

Slip Case

For this next one I coloured the base card with Distress Inks wild honey and rusty hinge, stamping the daisies with wild honey. The large flowers are Versafine onyx black.

Slip case

For the final one I omitted the slip cover and instead I made "covers" front and back with chipboard covered with Background Papers, Book 3, Springtime from Crafty Individuals. Distress Inks were again used for the background - this time milled lavender and dusty concord. The stamped flowers are Versafine imperial purple, coloured with water colour pencils lightly blended with water.

The daisy flower images used for all the mini books are from Crafty Individuals plate CI-206.

Silver!

My brother and sister-in-law celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. Where did those 25 years go?

The Bazzill card has a sheen to it but doesn't show up very well in the photo. I used Tim Holtz's dies Tattered Florals and Elegant Flourishes to die cut the flower and scroll. The petals were stamped with Crafty Individuals manuscript stamp CI-194. The number 25 and Happy Anniversary were embossed using Crafts-Too folders.

Birthday Card

I made this card using one of my new Crafty Individuals stamps CI-296 for the first time. It's a stamp that can stand alone or parts of it can be highlighted or just some of it's elements used.

The image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and the background on the base card and image was inked with Broken China and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks. The script was stamped using Broken China. I cut out another butterfly which I glittered and attached to give a 3d effect.

Birthday Bear

I can safely post this now that my grandson has received this stepper card. Not that I think he reads my blog just yet! It was made originally for the Cardmaking Paradise online magazine Issue 22. The images are from a Popcorn the Bear plate, the die cut letters are Procrafts Hippie Chick, and Happy Birthday is an Anita’s stamp.
