Week 19 - The Craft Barn Quotes & Lyrics Challenge

Skidding into week 19 of the Craft Barn Quotes and Lyrics Challenge by the seat of my pants. The words we were given this time around were "better" and "patience".

For the song lyric I have chosen a Christmas ditty which contains the word "better". This will probably be my only nod to the festive season until December - I always leave things to the last minute but you never know, this might be the year I get organised and can sit back with a couple of weeks to go and a smug smile on my face. Ummm, I don't think its likely to happen!
I Distress Inked the background and stamped the snowflakes (or are they stars?).  The houses were repeat stamped along the bottom edge and the windows painted with Distress Ink. Santa was coloured with Copics, cut out, glued on. Then the obligatory festive glitter was applied.

Patience is a thing I lack. When they were giving it out I was far too impatient to join the queue! I really ought to take on board the Saadi quote I have chosen.
I found a piece of card in my scrap box that I had used to place some die cuts on to spray and felt it should be given its fifteen minutes of fame for my quote background. Not entirely happy with the end result. My word "patience " looks rather odd partly because I couldn't decide which of three stamps in an alphabet set was an ' i '.  Having finished the postcard, I had a another look and I think I've worked out which is the J, which is the I and which is the L - they all look very similar and I think in fact I used the L in upside down mode but it's too late to undo it.

Saved from the bin and headlining in the CB challenge... great background! I have used an upside "u" for a "n" before without noticing for weeks! But when I did that was all I could see!

Both of these postcards are GREAT. Great minds think alike, since I used the same lyrics. However, I think your artwork is much, much MUCH better than mine. I like how you used a "town" with Santa in the foreground.

I was just mentioning on my blog how little patience I have, so I can relate. I don't stamp much, but I have an alphabet set I can't figure out, either. I thought you did a great job, and turned this into a beautiful postcard.

Love your Santa doing a happy jig and that piece of scrap card makes for a fab background. Now you mention it the I looks a little like a J LOL. No worries I missed a letter out completely in the last challenge and had to re upload after I had managed to squeeze it in. Daft thing is if we hadn't mentioned it no one would probably have noticed.

Those alphabet stamps are terrors when trying to work out certain letters but if you hadn't said anything Maggie no one would have noticed:) I have a word stamp done with flourishes that is impossible to interpret!!
However to your cards - love the happy Santa in front of the lovely little houses. A beautiful snowy night card.
I rather like the background of this second card, it really is fab and love your quote too. Patience isn't my middle name either )

Such a cute Santa on your first PC and I really like the 'waste' background you've used.

Both pieces are lovely - love the background on the page and quote and it wouldn't be Christmas without sparkle. I didn't notice the I was a L either :)
