The Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary Challenge - Letter V

I had a choice of words lined up for the letter V in the Craft Barn Challenge but finally plumped for "vase".

For the previous challenge I went with a vintage feel so this time around I thought I would go with a modern look and in doing so use a background stamp that I bought as part of my Craft Barn prize voucher I won recently,

I started by stamping the middle vase in Archival Jet Black and then stamped the other two in Archival Watering Can - I wanted it to look as if they were in the distance.  I'm not sure if I really achieved my aim. I then used the background stamp around the edge before colouring the dots and image with Coloursoft pencils. I edged the postcard with Distress Ink and then using glossy accents  filled in the main vase. The dictionary definition completed the card.

I love those little Jofy stamps. Vase is a really good choice for V and I really like the idea of two black and white with one brightly coloured vase. The colouring is effective in making the central vase look like it is in the foreground. A very good card.

I agree with Julia about the coloring. I think it brings the focal vase into the foreground. I like how you mixed it up and justified it, too. I actually like your modern vase. It's quite the right stamp for the job and letter.

A lovely postcard Maggie, do like your vases and how you portrayed them.

Great use of those new stamps! The middle vase is definitely in focus but the feel of recession is compromised because our eyes see the vases are identical and expect the ones further away to be smaller than the foreground one. For the purpose of your page I really don't think it's a problem...
