Firstly, thank you to everyone who visited my blog and left comments on my Week 4 Craft Barn challenge entry. I'm pleased to say that I finally got round to look at some of the other entries. Things are looking up!
I had no problem finding a lyric and a quote for this week's words - road and/or art.
For my lyric I was transported back to my teenage years in the 60's and to a song that a local group often played at our youth club. It was written and recorded by John D. Loudermilk in 1960 but I remember The Nashville Teens version. It was semi-autobiographical, the composer grew up in Durham, North Carolina a tobacco growing area. Hence the map on my postcard.

I bought one of the new sets of Lin Brown's flower quotes recently and this seemed a good time to take off the packaging and get inking. My postcard is more vibrant than the scan shows. The flowers and sun were stamped onto tissue paper, coloured with Copics before gluing to my Fresco painted background.

Thank you for your lovely comment on my 'attempt at art'
You are very good using both words, and I particularly like the flower one - the colours stand out beautifully.
2 fabulous postcards, I especially like the colours on the flower one.
Love your fabulous page. And great lyric.
The postcard flowers is very cute.
Nothing like waiting till the last minute to visit. Sorry, it's been a busy two weeks for me.
Both of these are awesome. I had no idea that the song Tobacco Road was from Durham, NC. Of course, I'm sure I've heard the song, but I can't seem to place it. But your art is beautiful.
The flowers are stunning, and of course, I love that quote. Your background is simply amazing, too. You did an excellent job on these.
Both cards are great, love the first one because it illustrates the lyrics so well and the second one for its gorgeous background.
I love the way you framed the tobacco road post card.
Fabulous postcards, my favourite is the second, wonderful colours
