Week 20 - The Craft Barn Quotes & Lyrics Challenge

Don't know what's come over me this week - here I am way ahead of the challenge closing!

It's week 20 already and we are rapidly heading towards the end of the challenge and in turn Christmas and the close of 2014. Yikes!! This time we were challenged to use the words "gift" or "destiny" (or both).

I just so happened to have a stamp with a quote containing the word "gift", so no searching the internet required.  The background is embossed and I inked the embossing folder before putting it through the Big Shot. The stamp behind my quote has been in my stash for some years and I think I have only used it once before. Although I used the same ink on it as on the embossed background they look completely different colours used in those ways.

For my second postcard I used lyrics from "My Destiny" sung by Lionel Ritchie. The tissue tape along the top and bottom was made some time ago  at a workshop by stamping onto micropore tape with archival ink. This was a bit of a stash buster all together as the background paper and the picture have been languishing far too long waiting for their fifteen minutes of fame.

My word Maggie you have excelled yourself - making two fabulous postcards and being early, you almost slipped past me!!
Love everything about both the cards but especially the love the quote and stamp on the first one. I forget to use my embossing folders but the effect on the second card is lovely. Shan't be joining in the swap this time, all crafty things are packed away now :)

Both of these postcards are wonderful and I would never be able to choose one over the other. I like that you had a stamp for the first one, and the femininity of the Lionel Richie song. Both are simply STUNNING bits of art!

Both brilliant pages and some stash busting too... you can't go wrong! My favourite is the first one though sober, elegant and that quote is so optimistic!

Two beautiful postcards! The second one has beautiful color and softness to go with the awesome LR song. The first one is simply classic and beautiful!

The first quote is just so true and we al should remember that and live by that.
The background of the second definitely deserved his 15 minutes of fame and glory.
