Goodness! The week 5 Craft Barn Quotes & Lyrics Challenge Wall of Fame last week was a very surprising accolade. There wont be any prizes for this weeks endeavours - what was in my head just would not translate onto my postcards. The sentence "it's all about the process not the product" from my pre-retiremnet days working in a pre-school come very much to mind.
The given words for week 6 of the challenge were" flower" and "travel". As in previous weeks I have made two postcards - one lyric and one quote You are allowed to use plurals so for my lyric I transported myself back to 1967, the very start of my twenties and Scott Mckenzie's "San Francisco" (be sure to wear some flowers in your hair). I wasn't sure whether this image, which I stamped with purple ink, really suited the background and flowers but then I had one of those light bulb moments as I tackled the pile of ironing - purple haze! I'm sure there was plenty of that around San Francisco in the sixties.
My photo doesn't show the full brightness of the piece.

Background paper downloaded from the web
Versafine Imperial Purple
Distress Ink - Dusty Concord, Ripe Persimmon
Letters - Prova Craft Hippie Chick
Flowers - Prova Craft
Words computer generated - Victor Moscoso font
I found it quite hard to find a quote that I liked or even really understood for travel. The colours of my travel quote postcard are in complete contrast to my lyric card although my scan has muted the colours somewhat.
