We have reached the penultimate Quotes and Lyrics
challenge and the words given to play with are heart and risk.
My brain has been concentrating on Christmas cards
and it's had little time to think about and plan my entries for this 24th
challenge. I'm not very happy about either of these postcards but, fortunately, they look far better on
screen than they do in real life. However I do treat this challenge as a
learning curve and I hope I have learnt something this week.
For my first postcard I chose the words of the Buddy
Holly song "It's raining in my heart". The heart and sun are directly
inked onto the card after creating masks. I recently bought the water droplet
stamp and this was its first outing. Fabulous deep etched rubber so stamps
beautifully. I went over the droplets with Glossy Accents.

For my second card, I used a quote by Ray Bradbury, the American author, "Living at risk is jumping off the cliff and building your wings on the way down". I found a piece of Distress Inked background that I tossed into my scrap box and stamped lightly over it before stencilling the poppies and adding the birds.

You're too hard on yourself! Both cards look very good to me. The first card illustrate the quote beautifully (love those raindrops but resisting buying them...)and I love the layering of colours and stencilled motifs in the second.
The first card with the Buddy Holly lyrics is gorgeous. I like how you used the word Heart, and liked how you included it in the illustration. That took some skill, and I greatly admire it. I never seem to be able to mask things properly. Of course, those rain drops were well, well done. I like that stamp a LOT.
The quote is lovely, too. I really, really like the poppies, as well as how well you stamp. another thing that impressed me was the bird stamp you used for continuity between the two cards. Lovely, lovely entries.
Two stunning cards, am in love with Ryn's raindrops which you have used perfectly and the colours and textures on your second card are amazing. Love that PA stencil:-) xxx
Both words have been beautifully depicted. I especially love the second one with the poppies.
Love both cards - the heart with raindrops is gorgeous and so apt Love the muted colours of the second and lovely quote Have a great weekend xx
the second background is fantastic. And I said it a couple of times, but I really need to have that droplet stamp, among gorgous.
