My August tag is a simple affair. I brushed Broken China over the tag, making it more intense on the left hand side. I then embossed the leaves and brushed over them with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to create green. The butterflies were stamped on a piece of previously coloured card that I found in my scrap box.

The inky background is lovely and the butterflies pop off the blue colour.
I think you are right cutting up the CI plate will be much easier!
